No Turkey, please!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I gathered everyone had a marvelous long weekend with the family. I for one did. My sister cooked our Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday and no turkey was served as tradition we replaced turkey with crown roast. Mmmm… good! We also replace pumpkin pie with tiramisu cake. Yes. This is our Thanksgiving meal. Don’t judge. lol

On Thanksgiving Monday, mom gave me some baking lessons of making Blitz Torte. I don’t really know where this cake derived from but its so so so good. It’s a 2-layer cake with meringue on top and the cake on the bottom – sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar and add some almonds and voila.

Kitchen Adventures: Opa!

So it all started with a potluck at Christine’s that led me to actually making something instead of buying some from the aisle of the nearest grocer. While prepping the chicken… I was like oh I could cook this for my family. And then… BAM! I decided to cook a full-course meal. And by the end of it… my family was full and I didn’t burn a thing and everything was donby 9pm. By everything I mean from cooking to cleaning. I’m actually efficient when I want to be. So here goes my first Kitchen Adventure!

Greek Cuisine was up. I’ve cooked this chicken recipe when I was in high school. So I pretty much made up the recipe as snippets of how I made it before came around. I was beaming the fact that it actually turned out pretty good. And who knew cooking is actually fun.

On the menu:
- Arugala & Smoked Salmon with fresh Mozarella pastry roll
- Cucumber, grape tomatoes with feta cheese + homemade Greek dressing
- Roasted Potatoes
- Rice Pilaf
- Grilled Chicken & Salmon
- My take on Baklava for dessert
- Store-bought Tiramisu

Here are the snapshots of my kitchen adventures…
